What happens if a journal ceases its participation in PubMed Central (PMC)? Will the existing articles be removed?

PubMed Central® PMC does not remove articles that have been deposited into its archive when a journal ceases its participation in PMC. The journal will be designated as “No longer participating” in the Participation Level column on the Journal List and all the material deposited previously remains available. For example, locate "Annals of Surgery" on this short list and —by clicking on the journal's title— link to its archive page.
