What file format should I use when submitting a manuscript to NIHMS?

All the files associated with the peer-reviewed Author Accepted Manuscript must be submitted. Therefore, the NIHMS system supports a wide variety of file types (MS Word, WordPerfect, PDF, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.). As required by journals, high-resolution images (i.e., .pdf, .tiff, .jpg, .eps, .ai) should be submitted to ensure the best reproduction quality in PubMed Central (PMC). With the exception of supplementary material, PMC will convert submitted images into standard file types.
